Sounds great, I love fig preserves! What varieties do you grow?
I'm waiting to see if my folks' neighbor will have a spare jar or two this year for me to take home. Hopefully, I'll have some figs next year. My rooted cuttings have done pretty well and have grown about 30 inches so far this year. I think I'm going to try to find cuttings of some other varieties to try as well. |

Skeet
Have you tried drying/dehydrating figs? I just purchased an Excalibur dehydrator and I will be giving that a trial run this week end. These first figs are exceptionally sweet and I wonder if this drought we are going through has something to do with it.

Fig preserves on top of a sharp cheese is a great combination. Love the sweet/bitter contrast. My father-in-law makes fig preserves as well and we always covet a few jars for that exact reason.
